Starting Problems, due to aftermarket alarm system?
G'Day!
My 92 SE has increasingly had problems starting where the starter motor doesn't even attempt to ignite. I bought this car used a few years ago, and there's a small chip (its only strips of metal to pass current essentially) that plugs into a slot underneath the driver side dash. It's called ProLock, and the car cannot be started when the card is taken out. Now the car won't even start with it in, and there's no difference in the attempts to start the car with/without the chip, so I'm figuring that this crappy security device is the culprit.
I noticed the device has 6 wires coming out, 4 of which are connected to ground, and then a yellow and red wire which are connected to 2 other wires. If i want to take this system out and turn the car back to normal, what exactly do I have to do? Do the wires attached to the yellow and red wires get connected together?
No worries
Joe

follow each of them back and you'll probably find them going to each side of the starter wire and if that's the case, just reconnect them
