Are you gonna dyno? I thought that you were gonna dyno with the stock Y-pipe and then the warpspeed one. Is that true?

Hi guys, like your wheels. I wanna lower my maxima, a 92 SE. How many inches should I lower it, I was think bout 2". what do you suggest.I want it pretty low, but not too low to be hitting speed bums. Will 2" be too low? thanks for your suggestions.

 

but once you lower the car past 1.75" you gotta be careful for more than just speed bumps!!(driveways, curbs, parking blocks, etc.) if you do go 2" than just be very careful and if you live in a hilly area i'd go with 1.75" Intrax drop springs at the most!

 

mine is only dropped about 1 1/4", and I have trouble on speed bumps sometimes.. I can't even go to jiffy lube without getting the sway bar stuck on the lip around the pit..

same goes for the lifts at the tire shop.. if they're the type you have to drive onto, the sway bar will get stuck if I try to back off of it.. must pull forward through the lift once I start onto it.

Last time I was on a lift, I had to have 2 mechanics lift up on the front fenders of the car while I drove it off the lift. I can't imagine being able to safely drive with anything much lower than that.

 

thanks for the tip fellows, well I'm in Dallas here and speed bums are a way of life here , so gotta watch out for em suckers. Matt, I noticed ya got 16x7 wheels. Is that the most you can go, would 18x7 wheels work with a 1.25" drop? or would the wheels be too big. Any 1 know? I do ask a lotta questions, huh. well I'm just getin started too..lol

 

the wheel size doesn't matter as long as you keep the right overall tire diameter correct.
I've seen lots of guys with 18x8 rims on their maxes.. I don't know correct tire sizes though..

 

You guys are lucky, Here in the mountains of colorado the most of the roads in town suck, so I would be worried eve with 17's. I get my jaw rattled about once a mile. Ironically the twisty roads with no traffic are in perfect shape, besides the snow in the shade around a blind corner, which cause you to almost fly into the guard rail, and over the cliff.
