FS: 96 VLSD 5speed transmission w/ deburred-detailed-cryo'd 3rd gear freshly rebuilt

For sale is a 1996 VLSD 5spd transmission. This transmission is freshly rebuilt, just finished it tonight 6-19-07. Items worth mentioning for this trans are:

- Detailed/deburred and cryo treated 2001 (5th gen) 3rd gear - I am NOT promising that this gear is indestructible and I make no warranties but this is the work I had done when I was building up my 2001 AE LSD trans (this is the 3rd gear out of that trans).

- Mild detail and polishing work done on shift components to improve shift quality

- Minor oil mods to improve oil flow to input shaft bearing

- new 2nd gear synchro

- New differential carrier bearings

- New input shaft front bearing

- good main shaft bearing

- all bearings properly shimmed to the following specs:
- Input: 1.34-1.39mm shim required - 1.37mm shim used
- Main: 1.08-1.13mm shim req'd - 1.11mm shim used
- Differential: 1.35-1.40mm shim req'd - 1.36mm shim used

- Glass beaded transmission case - so clean and pretty you could eat off of it

I'm trying to think if there is anything else unique or worth mentioning about this trans - can't think of anything right now. I'll update the post if I think of anything.

Price is $1100 SHIPPED - I will ship it via Fedex through work.

do we need to get vlsd axles in order for this to work?

do we also need to add a button for whether we want the lsd on or off?

^^^^ you will need the LSD drivers side axel... as for the option of turning it on and off with the flick of a switch.. I cannot confirm.... Either way, a good deal!

BUMP for a very well built tranny and price!

VLSD works all the time. it is purely mechanical there is nothing to switch. VLSD driver's side axle is needed for a VLSD trans.

This trans has been sold. I will have more transmissions for sale in coming weeks. keep checking this forum or my sig if you're interested.
