FS: 00VI stuff

SOLD. Thanks for looking.

I have some 00VI stuff for sale. For those who are going to ask, NO this is not a complete kit, however it is most of the main pieces.

I have for sale:

-DEK upper manifold
-DEK lower manifold
-DEK fuel rail with injectors and FPR
-DEK throttle body
-DEK IACV
-all Nissan bolts and rear brackets for the UM

Pics:

Thanks for looking.

Edit: I forgot to mention that one nipple on the side of the TB area is broken (but it was evident in the picture). This isn't a big deal though, as most people cut that off anyways and install a brass fitting for EVAP, or vacuum etc.

I'm very new to the concept of an 00VI swap, but what else would I need to complete the swap?

You shouldn't need a whole lot more parts. With any 00VI swap you'll need some misc hoses and clamps (generic parts store stuff, just to re-route stock vacuum/air lines etc) but besides that, you'll need:

-the 5th gen EGR guide tube (get from Nissan for <$40 IIRC) if you're keeping the EGR, otherwise just block off the upper manifold
-fuel rail off-fitting or 5th gen damper for the front of the rail (either one works)
-electrical connectors for injectors & VIAS
-some kind of RPM switch to activate the VIAS (if you already have a tuning unit like a VAFC, EB, or EU they can serve that purpose too)

An extra option would also be the 5th gen rear valve cover and ignition coils, but this isn't necessary if you're trying to save money. When I did my swap initially I just ground down the 4th gen coils/bosses a bit and connected an elbow for the PCV and it worked/fit just fine.

For more info on the swap check the All-Motor stickies, Tatanko's website and Ceasar's big "for dummies" thread (in the stickies IIRC).

As for power gains, on an N/A car the USIM chokes past 5000-5500. The 00VI makes power all the way to redline and past. At 6500 you'll have 30-40 more whp easily, and if you extend the rev limit it only gets better. Even boosted it's a similar power curve adjustment. The car will be a lot faster with more area under the curve up top, will do better on higher speed pulls, or in the 1/4 mile etc, especially with an extended rev limiter to 7000 or 7200 to complement the manifold.

Do some searching in the dyno forum, and in the stickies in the All-Motor forum, there's some links there too IIRC.

C'mon people, price is negiotiable, I need to get rid of these parts. This is a heck of a mod for a 4th gen with USIM, or upgrade from a MEVI...

For any of you guys contemplating doing the 00VI but are scared off by the posts you read (all too often) by guys who are having problems, I can promise you that 99% of those problems are because they (1) didn't prepare and study the numerous threads about how to do it; (2) didn't understand what and/or why the different things involved; (3) decided that they were going to cut some corners (like leaving out the EVAP, EGR, IACV, etc.); or (4) were just too sloppy in keeping track of everything and forgot how to reconnect things (or just overlooked hooking some things up).
This is not a simple, Saturday-and-a-six-pack type of project. But there are lots and lots of guys who were thorough in their preparations and didn't fall into any of the above catagories, and will tell you that is one super enhancement to the 4th gen Maxima. I have the 7200 RPM JWT ECU with mine and have power and torque hands down over the stock USIM or MEVI throughout the RPM spectrum.
Oh, and let me just add, a few years ago when contemplating the 00VI mod, if I had read all the threads you're seeing these days of guys who've mutilated this installation, I'd have probably been scared off too. But face it, some guys just aren't cut out for doing mechanical stuff beyond changing their oil!

there must be heaps of new 4th gen owners or something aye ? i did the 00VI swap, see sig ? I dare you to find someone more honest and trustworthy than dandymax? no worries there.

if you are looking for a serious performance mod then this is the ticket. there are several writeups and the all motor guys here on the forums are fantastic. nothing to worry about, the 00VI swap was scary for me but I started a thread and the maxima crew here stood with me every step of the way. its really not that bad at all.

good luck with the sale dan. if i had it to do all over again, it would be a no brainer, 00VI kills the poor USIM !

bump for probably the best bang for the buck performance mod in the 4th gen classifieds

Maybe, but I want to give it a little bit longer as a package, there have been several people interested and close to buying it. Ask me again in a couple weeks...
