FT: Budget Exhaust y-pipe for stock - San Diego
I have a Budget Exhaust y-pipe that I want to trade for a stock y-pipe in San Diego. The y-pipe has a small dent from hitting something in the road, but otherwise is in good condition. I'll try to get a picture of it tomorrow.
Edit:
This should fit all 95-98 and 99-01 fed spec.

This is off my 97 Maxima, so I believe it should fit all 95-98 and 99 fed spec. The y-pipe is still on my car, so sorry for the cruddy pics. I tried to get a couple different angles of the dent. Flex section is still in good shape. If you guys need any other pics, I'll have to go to my parents' place and jack up the car.

Renots, responding to your question to my post in the regional forums: yes, it's made by Budget Exhaust in Canada.
Also, for whoever wants the trade, please let me know if your y-pipe is in good condition. I don't need pics. Just take a quick look and I'll take your word for it.

I didn't know that. Thanks!
I can't answer that. I have no other exhaust mods. All I can say is that with a y-pipe alone, it adds a slight low end grunt to the exhaust note, but not much else.
I failed smog. This is the first time I've ever had the smog tech actually visually check for the pre-cats on the y-pipe. I also had high NOx levels at 15 mph...which I always seem to have a problem with. I've replaced my main cat on my previous 96 maxima and my current 97 maxima the last time I failed smog, and that fixed the issues both times. This time, I'm hoping that having the pre-cats will help. I cleaned out the EGR guide tube and checked the EGR valve prior to the smog check, but this doesn't rule out the EGR system as possibly being faulty within the other components. People say that you don't need the pre-cats if the car is well warmed up (which I did), but I just don't feel like worrying anymore about the y-pipe. Plus I'm getting "old" and just don't rev up the engine much anymore.
I don't have any other parts to sell/trade.

Thanks for making the drive all the way down! My car passed smog today, but just barely. My 15 mph NOx was ~1300 and is now ~400 (max 437). At least I won't have to worry about it for another 2 years... Good luck with your car.
VQ'r, thanks for passing this thread along.
