Block-off plate for 70mm Pathfinder TB

For sale: Designed a block-off plate for the PFTB(pathfinder throttle body) IACV for a buddy's 3.5 swap. I had some extras made. I designed it with a hose fitting which allows an easy spot to plumb in the IACV adapter plate which I have available as well. Machined from 6061 aluminum. Will come with the necessary hardware to mount to the throttle body.

$44.99 shipped ConUS

What's the purpose of the block off plate? How does the car run without an IACV?

Basically, the blockoff plate replaces the pathfinder IACV that is attached to the throttlebody. If you look at the bottom in the pic, you can see the plate has a hose nipple. You run an air hose from there to your stock 4th gen IACV, which is a seperate "module" from the stock 4th TB.

In a nutshell this part allows you to use the stock IACV instead of the pathfinder IACV, which is unreliable/not usable.

Yes, basically since you run the 4th Gen IACV using one of my adapters, you don't need to run the PF IACV. I know you bought one of my PFTB adapter plates and throttle bracket. What were you going to do in terms of IACV?

I was going to keep my mouth shut until I read the last bit of your post. The few instances I've seen on the org involving the pathfinder IACV have had nothing but positive results, my personal experience included. The 5th gen IACV however, is another story..

There was another thread that I can't seem to find that had positive results with the pathfinder IACV. If my memory serves me right it was a guy with a swapped i30 that changed out the dek iacv for a pf iacv and it solved his cold start/idle issues.

Well, the PF IACV seems to be a very similar design to the DE-K IACV and I know folks can have issues running the 4th Gen ECU with the DE-K IACV. Also, I'm pretty confident that the PF IACV will not bolt up to the DE-K throttle body. The PF IACV is a bit larger and the bolt pattern is not the same.

You are correct they are very similar in design. But for whatever reason, the PF IACV doesn't seem to possess the same issues as the DEK IACV.

The IACV housings are not interchangeable between the DEK and PF TBs, however the IACV valve/motor/plunger/black thing itself is interchangeable as I have used it on both my DEK and PF TBs.

Anywho, the point I'm trying to make here is that the PF IACV is useable and there is no evidence at this time to show that it is unreliable as you had previously mentioned.

Gotcha. I will have to go back and look at what you mean about the parts being interchangeable. Never realized that. Also, I never stated the PF IACV is not useable. That was Slamrod that stated that. Heck, it seems like some folks have gotten the DE-K IACV to manageably work. So I know the PF IACV could possibly be used. But some prefer the 4th Gen IACV instead.

My mistake, I overlooked who replied. Yup, some work better than others and each driver has their own refrence. I just wanted to clear that up before people start spreading false information about the PF IACV.
