Exhaust header - YPIPE threaded studs bolts

These are brand new, they are studs that are screwed into the exhaust header so you can bolt the Y-pipe to the headers. I've done 3 y-pipe installations and you need these because of rust.

$15 Shipped

Cattman headers are nice and I have them on my beast. I was planning on buying obx since they're a copy of cattman just a lot cheaper. I just found a member selling them and bought them. A standard aftermarket y-pipe is a good step for a beginner because it's simpler than removing manifolds but I just did a warpspeed y-pipe on my beater and it's such a rust bucket that four of the six studs broke and I drilled them out so that was a hassle that could be a deal breaker for a beginner. My recommendation would be vq35 obx headers/y-pipe combo which is a copy of cattman but you save like $600. Take the proper precautions when doing the work. Plenty of penetrating lube. Start spraying the hardware everyday for a week or two prior to removing if your stockers are in rough shape. Do no break anything. Use heat and more fluid when removing. I didn't break a single stud on my beast when I did the headers and it's the same year as my beater. Then look into a 3" cat-back from mandrel exhaust systems and a variable intake manifold, vafc2, and you have a nice basic setup. Then a nitrous wet kit, sc, or turbo; in that order.

I hear the OBXs need custom fab needed to fit, true?

with the 3" mandrel, curious what muffler would you go with?

I ve only had Stillens on my maxs...liked the high flowthru, but not wanting the ricesound. Was thinking of going w a resonator at the end instead

SC would be a nice down the road

thanks

The apexi world speed (not world speed 2) which I have in the 2.5" form sounds good on the vq. I'm going with that muffler but the 3" version which is called 80mm turbo. Also they are still selling the original world speed but they call it NOIR now. http://www.apexi-usa.com/store/exhau...urbo-80mm.html

Got the 3" in mandrel from MES w/ the NOIR turbo enroute....but getting nervous...cant find the OBX VQ35, just the VQ30 on ebay...and threw out a few hailmarys for cattman or stillen....

not sure if the VQ30 is worth it?
might just go w/ a warspeed Y as last resort
