I have a set that were retrofitted but don't know too much detail about em. The lenses are in good condition. If you still need em and are interested email me @ jeffcruzer12@gmail.com

Yeah i thought about that long time ago but i'm not sure, i know they're back on the market but the quality seems to be not that good especially with those black corners plus i'm not an a hurry the car still under construction

was just gonna say that.
I tried to restore my r34 lenses and fd them up. Just bought a new set and yup I only need the lenses. I hope the quality is the same, Ill give a review on them once I receive them..

Wax them when you wash the car and they'll stay clear for years. I've had mine for about four years now (they were already used when I bought them) and I've never had to restore them. The chrome bezel in one is starting to pit yet the lens still looks brand new

I watched a dam YouTube video of restoring clear lenses. They guy wet sanded a clear lens headlight with 600 grit then 2000 grit. After that he used a rustoleum clear coat for plastic. It's used to prevent yellowing and UV Rays.
Figured I'd try it out and the sanding hazed the $hit out of them smh so they are no longer clear like before.
I should have know better but it looked dam good on video. What really works well is WD 40 believe it or not. It gets all the extra butyl sealant off of the lens and cleans it up nice. That's what I should have done from the beginning. Then wax. Live and learn. Cost me 140 for the new headlights, at least I'll have spares now hehe

Only choice was to buy a new set. Next time no sanding, just WD40 and wax.

Here is the new clear lens compared to the old lenses I tired to restore by wet sanding with 600 then 2000 grit. I followed a video from YouTube and as you can see they came out hazzy and worse than before. Lesson learned. Don't follow videos to restore a clean lens that requires sanding( not for plastic lens anyway ) . WD 40 works well and maybe some wax coat.
Btw the quality of the new R34s are same as I remember. Don't really see any difference people were complaining about. It also came with the bulbs and harness needed for bulb conversion.

if you already sanded them once, then you can still re-sand. you have to use several different grits/grades of sandpaper to achieve that same look again. you were probably better off replacing them new at that point. thing is, you have to use an adhesive before you re-apply the clear or it comes out all hazy. and if you sanded in a circle you boned them from the start, side to side is the only way to do them properly.

Haha I did sand them side to side. Think of Mr. Miogi telling Daniel son "show me sand the floor"
But i used the techniques I've researched so I know all about the swirls then side to side sanding. I really couldn't see restoring to orirginal clear. Buying a new set was my best bet and 130 bucks wasn't killing my pockets.
For these lenses I didn't need to sand anything but by the videos I saw, I was under the impression it would restore a crystal clear finish. Needless to say I was disappointed.
Unless there is yellowing or tiny imperfections in the lens I would not try sanding. WD 40 works well for gum, bug, goop, and tar (whatever you wanna call it) and will leave a nice shiny finish. Nothing will restore that original crystal clear finish so don't be fooled by these videos you see IMO.
