You should emphasise the VLSD in your 5MT.
That rear end damage doesn't look that bad......must have been totalled due to the really low market value of a 17+ year old car.
Sad to see another go

To be totally honest with you, I had no idea what VLSD was for the longest time or that I had it. I just knew that it was fun as **** to drive!

Correct, it's an old car with high mileage and it had 'frame damage' so yea, total. We had a good run though. Made me feel good when I looked online and there were only (4x) i30's manual transmissions for sale in the entire country. Yay for rarity!

lol, and new rear quarter panels, and rear subframe support... Look man, I love the car, trust me, but even I wouldn't put this much work into bringing this thing back to life. This was my golden ticket out of repair bills. I'm much happier with making a car payment.

Guess so but either way on newer cars it loses its value over time, and older ones tend to keep their price range the same, it's just when you mod/repair something u may only get a little bit of that back when you sell it. And newer cars..say you paid $30k for it and 5 years down the road u sell it for $8k, 22k$ gone. So it's kinda like "repair bills" we're 22k$ And older cars may be $1k-2k a year if not less. Either way a car is an investment either if it's old or new

Each to their own..but sad to see i30 go, 250k miles was plenty of joy time you had with it. good luck on the parting out, get the most out of it.

JoshG, I hear ya brotha, modding cars is certainly not an investment. I'm realistic about it. It's fun money. Some people waste their money on booze, some on women, some on cars. I chose to waste my money on all three.

Yes, yes you may. May I call dibs on $40 of your monies? (damn that seems like a good price now in retrospect, I hope it doesn't cost more to ship it, lol!)

That car is very fixable tbh, but the only point of doing it would be if you wanted to keep the car, cant sell it and make money off of it unfortunately.

Wow I'm surprised that car was totaled, even given its age. I can understand if it was hit on an angle and smeared the rear end over diagonally, but it appears to have been hit straight on.

I suppose a shop wanting to milk insurance money could say it would need a driver quarter panel, but even that looks like a stretch to me. I definitely can't see it needing a passenger quarter panel. I'm just amazed at how quickly cars get totaled out by insurance companies nowadays. Kind of a shame.

Exactly , it's fun money. Some people spend a lot on alcohol, crazy stuff, u name it. It's all the same really, It just depends on the person, like me I would rather mod my car than spend almost the same amount on alcohol, shopping too much at the mall, I mean it adds up, some spend $5000 on clothes. And usually only maybe get $1000-1500$ back if not less

And honestly if that happened to me I would want it fixed cause i want to keep it. It's fixable, just insurance companies are a btch to old cars that are gonna last a lot longer than those electrical computered cars out today..I guarante you that, watch

I know everyone wants me to fix this thing, but I saw this as an opportunity to get out of the trap I had been in of constantly fixing a car to have bad gas mileage. I wanted out. I loved it, for sure, we had a great run, for sure, but I'm ready to move on. 8 years of work on a single car, man, I was ready for a clean slate.

Granted, the Juke's "Service Engine Soon" light came on the second I drove off the dealer lot and my first tank got 13 MPG. So here I am freaking out because now I'm making payments on a car that is doing exactly what my old one did! So yea, December ain't going so hot for me. So just buy some car parts and send positive vibes my way. Please and thank you.

4th gens are not necessarily bad on gas unless you drive them hard.....then again any car you drive hard is gonna get bad gas mileage. Typically a MT 4th gen will average 23-25mpg. Change your driving habits more than the car because that bad gas mileage problem will follow you from car to car. Bad 02 sensors, knock sensors, mafs and stuck injectors will also cause poor mileage in any car. So just stay on top of those things in the future if you did not with the 4th gen.

However, thankfully, because you said that, I looked and I had 5 in my inbox that I had no idea about.

More goodies... the fun never ends!

DEI 530T window control modules... I decided I wanted to keep two, so I have 1x 530T ($40) (two windows two directions) and 1x 529T ($20) for sunroof (or two windows one direction).

Stinger Brand 17' 2Ch Directional Twisted Shielded Interconnects. That top-of-the-line-ish. $20/ea or both for $35

Heated seat switches with plugs and wires. I used em for stealth switches for the fog machine and the exhaust cutout, but you can do whatever you want with em. $10 for both shipped

Since a bunch of people asked about the voltmeter clock, these are what I normally made em out of (although mine was an earlier design). I got 2 of these that I can get shipped to ya for $20/ea, and then you can do the same thing!

USB flush face mount, USB charging plug with disconnect plug, microUSB charging plug. All current regulating. $7/ea shipped. All 3 for $15 shipped

A bunch of those bulbs that go in the climate control and dash and stuff. I harvested the junkyard once and stockpiled em. $7 shipped.

New color-matched vinyl upholstered with extra padding super comfy arm rest cover.

ooooh. ahhhh.
but wait... there's more!

I wired up 4 white LEDs in the top of the armrest that turns on when you open it so you can actually see what's in there at night! I'll include the switch that would need to be carefully aligned and put into place, OR you can just wire the LEDs to accessory (tap the cig lighter), since you can't see em when they're on and the thing is closed anyways. $40 shipped
That's custom yo.

Ah hell, I got all the other exhaust stuff up. This was my exhaust cut out valve that was in place of the catalytic converter.

The valve is currently seized up I think. I would sell it as non-functional for $30 shipped (mostly because the stupid SWITCH is $60, I had to buy a replacement. If you can get it to work, score, it was several hundred dollars when I bought it.

On the other hand, if you want the straight pipe and you put a plate over the T, you've got a dope cat-bypass. This is most likely illegal. I won't tell anyone if you won't. $30 shipped for the pipe itself, no valve.

Ehhhhch. Public Service Announcement: I may be off base, but I feel that if you want to purchase something from someone, it's probably best if you initiate that transaction. Not say "hey, you should contact me" because... well, you just contacted em already and said essentially "I'm too lazy to start this transaction". ESPECIALLY if they say what method of communication they prefer and you request them to do something else.

That said, I'mma PM this dude anyways cuz I wanna sell this crap. Oh, and while I'm on my soapbox, if you "claim" something and don't pay for it, it isn't yours. I'm setting an arbitrary 3 day payment window after 'claiming'. After that, it's up for grabs for the first person to actually put their money where their mouth is.

That is all.

Easiest way to deal with that problem is "Cash talks, no dibs". I do not believe in dibs anyway unless somebody puts down a down payment. It will just lead to you losing a potential sale.

I'm still interested in the warpspeed y-pipe and cat,but it would be lowball material before I could buy it. But I would buy it and have the cash. Not just window shopping.

Money talks and you haven't made a peep. Lowballing is just window shopping for a broken window!

Woot woot, transmission and the goodies attached to it are sold. I've got about 2 weeks left with this thing sitting around before it heads to the yard. I'll keep some of the higher dollar items to be eBay bound, but any weird little knick knacks or whatever, get em sooooooon....

Both Y Pipes (oem & aftermarket), headlights, airbags, rack & pinion assembly... that's what I'm thinking of keeping. The rest I'm kinda impartial about.
