How to test for manifold vacuum on 95

In an effort to further diagnose problems w/ my engine; I am going to test the manifold vacuum. My FSM doesn't really cover this and the Haynes just states to make sure I use a manifold vacuum and not a ported vacuum from the TB. So, can I disconnect the brake boosters vacuum source and hook my meter to that? It's the 1/2" hose located on the intake manifold on the side away from the TB and, the hose connects to a metal line on the firewall that runs to the brake booster. If I do that, do I need to plug the hose that goes to the brake booster - I won't be driving the car but??? Thanks for any help.

I think it would be preferrable to measure the vacuum with all tubing intact. Just by a T-piece and some rubber hose (short segment) There are a couple of small lines in between the IAC and TB that you can conveniently use, but any will do just fine.

Yes, you can just disconnect the brake booster line and test vaccum off of thier, it doesn't have to be T'ed, but you can if you really want to, vacuum should be 17-22in-hg. Good luck.
