wiped the floor with black 4th gen 5spd
from a dead stop, pulled an immediate car length, ran up to 80, had about 6 cars at 80. kicked the poo out of that maxima.. had clears, white/red tails, 4" exhaust tip, blue headlights, etc..
was not even a match.
wish i had been in my max, though, woulda been more fun, more even match.
I was not in the maxima
i was in the 72 merc 390hp / 440 tq - what a "G" ride the merc is, but its quick! and the sound of 7 liters of engine w/ dual quads and dual 3" exhaust with glasspacks... mmmmmm... unfortunately all maximas are doomed to the farty import exhausty sound. i would like to see if someone can get better sound out of a max by going with true duals. 2 headers. 2 mufflers. never touching. should sound a little more manly

why you racing an obviously stock max for?
why dont you find a boosted one?thats like us braggin about beating a civic

Ummmm... You are a totally different class of car. The Maxima is just a relativly fast four door sedan. You were driving a rear wheel drive muscle car. Most of the guys here do not have the 4" tip fart exhaust. Even with the big tip the Maxima sounds way better than some little civic but of course it sounds nothing like a big V8. An aftermarket muffler does very little for the Maxima powerwise.
The 5 speed Maximas are quite a bit faster than the autos and with basic bolt ons the Max can make good gains, but it is still not a 400 HP muscle car. (well a couple are

You think all maxima's are doomed to farty exhaust tones? Ok, now I'm convienced you ARE ignorant. My exhaust system sounds anything but "farty". A few members here have heard it and it's about as deep and rumbly as you can get for 3 japanese liters.

i've never understood why people with cars that have a lot of horsepower waste their time racing and spankin cars that are no match....and then go off and brag about it big deal.....let me go get in my vette and race a pinto then brag about it...oh my what a big kill...man get a life race someone who will give you a run for your money
