ABS brakes
ABS?
I have an idea on how you find out if you have it....go to a parking lot when it is wet or snowy and hammer the brakes, if the pedal vibrates than you have ABS

ABS is normally packaged with the
Leather trim... It s/b a 4 channel system...
I believe all 5th gens get it standard...
Wanna know if you have it? Check for the ABS light when you start the car...

I don't think it's standard
I know I don't have them. I also don't have leather interior. Probably the easiest way to tell is to look in the engine compartment and follow the brake lines from the master cylinder to see if there is an ABS box somewhere.

ABS is a $500 option on any 4th gen.
You can remove the wheel and rotor and check for the ABS unit, but if you do not know your ABC's then just go to a long empty space and slam on the brakes a few times. If the wheels lockup(the car slides) at least one time you do NOT have ABS.
ABS info on 4th and 5th gens
To put this post to a definitive end---the 4th gens did have them as a $500 OPTION on the cars. And from my reading, ALL 5th gens have ABS as a STANDARD safetey feature.
Again, the easiest and safest way to check to see if you have ABS w/o even starting your car, is to do either:
1) <easiest method> turn your key to ON (but don't start your car!), and watch for the diagnostic test lights in your instrument cluster to light up. If you have ABS, it will be an orange light on the left side, it'll stay on for about 1-2s, as it does its diagnostic.
OR
2) look under your hood and check to see if there is an ABS actuator underneath there. On my 95 GLE, it's located right in front of the master brake cylinder. From the looks of it, it looks like a 4 channel system.
