Car dies during driving without any notice ....

I have a problem, my car just dies when I drive. I start it up, warm it up and I drive for a bout 3 minutes and it suddenly dies. It's not choking or anything, it just dies. Map sensor was exchanged, temp sensor also, but the problem is still there. Any ideas, please help.

yeah check your filters/ change your filters. if your check engine light is on run a diagnostic test on it and see if that comes up with anything

how old is your battery? and does this happen right after you drive or when you let your car sit? Does the car start right up after it dies, or does it turn over slowly and then cranks up?

I think we have the same problem...

my problem "goes away" after the car warms up...and returns when cold...I'm wondering:

Why does everyone think its the battery?
What's the theory on that?

I'm asking because I've tried just about everything (my last suggestion on the .Org was two hail Mary's), but the battery has
never crossed my mind...

Thanks!

your problem sounds a little familiar to my dads max. His car was doing the same thing but once in a while it would seem like it was knocking but his check engine light came on so I checked the codes out and it ended up being the knock sensor and the Engine temperature control sensor. He changed the E.T.C.S. by himself and it only costed him about 25 bucks and the check engine light when off and is car ran fine after that.

Thanks for the info...
I've already changed my Knock Sensor AND my ECTS, and still -- nothing!!!!

Personally, I think it's a vaccuum leak...but, time will tell!

thanks again,
