Rear Sagging- How to fix?

I was reading another post, and it prmpted me to ask if anyone knows why my 96 GLE rear is sitting 2-3" lower than the front on stock coils. I bought the max used from a single-owner, it has 58,000 miles on it. The past owner shows no record of spring replacement in front or rear.

Why might the front sit so much higher?? I cannot tell if the front is too high or if the rear is too low, or a combination of both. The mileage should not be so high that the rear would sag, but who knows...?

Any thoughts? what can I do to try to level it out? Would SE rears raise it up a bit? I hate the huge front gap, but I really just want it LEVEL until I can afford to do aftermarket springs in a year or so...

Take the dead hookers out of the trunk?

All Suspension heights on all models are the same.

The SE has different shocks, but they are still the same height.
All of the springs are the same.

So do you think that the rears are just worn out? What do you guys suggest?

My rear is also sagging since they are worn out, it only sits about an inch lower than the front though, not 2-3 inches.

Possibly busted Struts?
Someone cut the stock springs and gave up before they got to the front?

I assume that it IS possible (though unlikely) that the struts are busted. At 60K, it rides GREAT, so I doubt that that is the case. Also, the single owner before me is in his 60s, so I seroiusly doubt cut springs.

I really cannot fathom why there is such a sag in the rear. It is beyond comprehension. My only thought is a full-size spare. But i sincerely hope that the springs are not so weak that that 25# could sag that far...

I have actually considered a coil spacer (like 4x4s use) to level things out. It is just plain UGLY!
