FP dropping resistor... s/b behind rear driver wheel well under the plastic panel in the trunk... opposite side of where the car jack would be...

dunno about price. I think a few people here have even taken out for use.

Come on NISMO! Search isn't the answer to everything. I did a search , not only here I used different search engines and came up with nothing. Where can it get it from? I'm referring to the resistor that controls tranny line pressure.

Are you trying to get a new one because you think the old one is gone or are you trying to do what I do and bypass it with a switch to get full line pressure for shifting?

Jim
I think mine is going out. Every now and then I get some harsh shifts.

Its easy check out its only a resistor. Disconnect it and put an meter on it, should be around 10-15 ohms. If it reads that, its ok if you get an open it will shift a full line pressure and should be replaced. It is located on the front of the drivers side strut tower and is about 3 inches long.

So if mine is bad where can I get another one? I really couldn't understand your explanation. I got the part where you said check it and it should be between 10-15ohms.

You will have to get another one from a Nissan dealer or parts company they are not very expensive.

You check it by putting an ohm meter across the two terminals of the dropping resistor and the resistance should read between 10-15 ohms, if its open ie no resistance it means its bad. You need a multimeter to check it.

Also if its bad it will shift hard all the time not just periodically. If it does it periodically its something else. Resistors either work or they don't work there is no in between.
