KYB GR2 front struts.. Like Stock?

My Maxima will be turned into a daily driver and i need to get rid of the stiff suspension i have. My front struts are currently blown on Sprint Springs. I have H&R's sitting next to me and I am looking for a cheap strut to get me by on mild driving with the new springs. Stock struts are more expensive, and i wont need the performance of Tokico, Koni, or AGX. Any opinions on the GR2?

Thanks - Nick

When I had a Honda I would hear people on the honda boards quite satisfied with the GR-2s. Actually my cousin has the GR-2s on his Accord V6 with Eibach Sportlines and it rides okay. He's had them for about 7 months now and theyre doing just fine. But for the most part theyre like stock replacements.

I have one front 96 gle strut and 2 rear. 36k on them. I blew the front right one on a pothole, the rest are good. I have kyb agx now. If you want those 3 shocks, you can have them for 10 bucks each plus shipping.

I only need the front 2. I have Koni's in the rear which are holding up very well, the Tokico's i have in the front, however, did not seem to like being dropped 2" and slamming into potholes all day oh well. thanks for the offer though.

I got GR-2 struts.
I would say they are a "better than stock" replacement for the front; but not necessarily a high performance level like the AGX model.
The rears are a "way better than stock" replacement; but still not as racy as what the adjustable AGX can be.

The stock struts are definitely not tolerant of lowering and not very tolerant of spirited driving. They are fine for people who want to calmly cruise down the road...
