Dealer reccommended a power steering flush.....

is this necessary on my 99 GLE, they said the fluid was black and hsould be flushed out, cost is about $90

or

can i do this myself as it seems a lot easier then even changed the oil?

You won't be able to do the full flush that they can do, but there is a way to do a flush at home. Use a turkey baster to suck out your old power steering fluid, then replenish it with new fluid.
