Just Finished Clearing Out My Taillights

finally got around to doing the tail lights on my 97 max....man that was some work.....bought a heat gun from lowes (planning to return it tommorow) and got the working.....it was me and 3 others of my friends....we figured it'd take us about 2 hours and we'd be done...wrong.....we followed chestons directions which were good but didn't get that specific...everyhing went easy...taking the light out and then seperating it out from the houseing was easier than we expectied.....the hardest thing we had to do (probably beacuse we didn't have a dremmel tool) was to cut a perfect fit....dat alone took us like 2 hours for one light because it kept breaking or cracking on us....we used a simple plastic cutter that they had at lowes (we went back and asked for a dremmel tool and they looked at me crazy)one of us who was a good artistic person used a blade with so much percision he cut a EXACT fit...didn't need much, it came out perfect....i'll have pics soon, if anyone if planning to do this, feel free to ask me questions, because we went through alot doing this and i think i can work my way around whatever problem you have

jimothy, make sure yours is 97+, i think 95-96 is one piece, you'll have to buy the whole tail light already modded. you can also use a soldering iron to cut it, that's what i use although it was not as precision as if i'd had a reeeeeeaaally SHARP strong knife. i know what you mean maxx when you say that stuff breaks easily. also, have patience...i used a hair-dryer actually, and cranked it all the way up on HOT HOT and it worked fine i just had to heat it a little longer. be careful when you peel it apart, if it doesn't want to come apart DON'T FORCE IT!!! just keep heating it, and remember to takeout the screws before you try to peel it apart (i made sure i took mine out but i read of someone who didn't and the light cracked).

i love 'em.

some people will tell you it looks like a civic but it's either that or altezza's
