300zx Caliper and Rotor Size for Conversion?

I know that this particular topic has been discussed numerous of times on here, but I could not find the sizes of calipers and rotors that are needed to be used for the conversion. Apparently Nissan produced two different sizes - 26mm and 30mm. Will 30mm work (depending on the wheel size, etc.) or the 26mm setup is the only option? Those with knowlege on this matter please reply.

Thank you,
Yuri

26mm and 30mm what? Are you talking about rotor thickness?

Don't get the 26mm, they were only used on the early turbos and had a tendency to warp. The 30mm were used on the late 91 and up TT's. Easier to get a hold of, and won't warp as easily. I've got the 30mm ones. The rotor thickness won't affect wheel fitment or anything since the diameter of the rotor is the same. 11", or 10.75" when it's shaved down to fit our cars.

To tell ya the truth, I have the 26mm on my car and unless ur autocrossing, u don't have to worry about the warping. The good thing about them is that they're a hell of alot lighter then the 30mm cause they're cast aluminum and not iron. My friend had the 26mm's on his Silvia also and he braked like he was autocrossing all the time. They held up to his abuse so it's really ur choice.

The cast aluminum is what make them more suseptable to warping because the aluminum can't hold as much heat as the iron. Knowing this, the heat has to go somewhere so it goes into the rotor causing it to warp under EXTREME REPEATED braking. So that's why cast iron 30mm are better for hardcore braking, but like I said before, it's ur choice.

26mm thickness were on early model non turbos only, made 2/89 to 6/90. *All* twin turbos have the 30mm rotor. Non turbos 7/90 and later use the same 30mm piece.
