Changing Springs and Struts

Hi all, I would like to know which is the best new struts- springs combo out there for a Maxima 96 GXE. I am interested in the comfortfactor most of all. I have an aftermaket combo right now that I think is too rigid and noisy. Thanks for any suggestion.

Thanks for your input JeepRage. I bought the car with this aftermarket suspenssion system. The struts are blue (koni???) and the springs are red. I could not see a brand name on them. Thanks

Red springs, I think Dropzone are red.

should be Tokico strut and Maxspeed or B+G spring (if I remember correctly). either maxspeed or B+G with tokico combo is pretty soft. if you don't think they are comfortable, you probably need to go back to non-SE stock then (or kyb gr-2 struts + h&r springs for the lower look). take a look at this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....nsion+answered

anyway, I can tell you Maxima is not a Lincon.

Will AGX struts work with OE springs?

Blue = Tokico Struts
Red = B&G Springs (most likely)

Not a very good combination, no wonder your ride is rough and loud. You need a firmer strut to handle the B&G springs.

Yes, AGX will work with stock springs.

Go with either the KYB AGX or GR-2. Get the tokico's out of there they suck.

agx vs gr-2

What is the difference between these two? Pros and cons vs each other? Thanks

AGX's are adjustable and GR2 aren't.

I had this combo a while back and really sucks. Maxspeed, BG, or HR should do fine if the streets you traverse daily are decent. If not, you may just want to go back to stock spring with aftermarket shocks.
