Anyone who has gotten into detailing knows to use the "Two Towel Method". One towel is a "wet" towel for applying the window cleaner and washing the window. The other towel is the "dry" towel to eliminate streaks.

Just use to paper towels....and dont be stingy with em...us one as the wet one.....and it will clean and absorb most of the windex...etc..or what ever blend you use, then, use a new section of paper towel to pick up the remaining windex.

I tell you I really prefer the white foam window cleaner that they
use at picture frame shops for the glass of the frames.
It is called Sprayway Glass Cleaner and it is streak free and it and paper towels are all I need to do my windows.
You will have to look around for Sprayway Glass Cleaner (it is in a white and blue aerosol can), but when you find someone who carries it you will be happy with the stuff, it works!

We used the newspaper trick in the Corps because it doesn't leave lint. The 2 towel trick really works for totally streak-free glass (2nd towel "buffs" the glass). I've read detail shops use polish, and I've had good success with it. It's too time consuming for me to do all the time, though, and you have to make sure you get it all off. 2 towels and CRL Sprayway glass cleaner is what I use on a normal basis. Also, make sure your glass is cool and in the shade or you can create a lot of streaks. I detail clean my glass at night when streaks, haze, etc.. are very visible from different angles/lighting. Hope this helps.
