by pass air compressor with smaller engine belt?? HELP!!!

by pass air compressor with smaller engine belt?? HELP!!!

hi everyone... here's my problem. i have a bad air compressor. it makes this horable noise whenever i drive. and my air conditioning does not work anyway, so i was curious if i could just get a smaller belt, and by-pass the air compressor, and just run it around the important parts of the engine? IS THIS AT ALL POSIABLE? if so, and if someone has already done this, do you know what size belt i need? thank you for your help.
