Blue LEDs in window switches...easiest mod EVER

Ordered these -- http://www.eled.com/product.asp?cata..._id=E7104QBC-D -- off eLED.com for ~$16 (you only need 9, but 10 is cheaper), got them in two days, soldered them in at 2am and it looks great. MUCH brighter than stock.

Maximadriver.com has a good write up of how to do it, but you should easily be able to figure it out for the most part by just popping out the switch panels and taking them apart. Do a search for more info, but if you're lazy I'd be glad to answer any questions.

HA, yes I know. It's been a while since someone posted about it, just reminding y'all. Besides, I don't want that 'newbie' title forever.

well! I think blue would look nice on the inside... but kinda incomplete if you don't have the indiglo gauges (which i don't have). So... anyone ever tried just putting a brighter white LED in? You guys think it's worth it?

i have put in the white leds in other peoples cars and it looks pretty cool, i would say go for it. or you can do like me and put blue LEDs every where, check my homepage.

Does that mean you've done it to the front? My 97 GXE had the same board on the front and back doors.

I hope to join your club. maybe I'll be the first '97 in it. or have other '97-'99's done it too? just changet out the 5 lights behind the guage cluster for 5 blue led's an hour ago. i totally love how the guages look now. and after we did that my friend ripped my window switches out. hopefully he'll be able to change out those little green leds for blue ones.

I'll start the "Red LEDs in window switches club" to be known as RLEDIWSC ... since I was the first to do it...

I wouldnt call this the easiest mod ever, but it's not as hard as some people make it out to be.

This mod is pretty easy, but when I simply switched my existing LEDs for blue and white ones, the buttons in the driver switch ended being WAY too bright. I could read a book in my car just by the light those switches gave off. It was distracting and annoying, so I replaced some of the resistors and added another one in series with the whole group of buttons, and that made it MUCH nicer. Now I don't go blind when I'm driving at night and try to roll up the windows.

I have the resistor values here somewhere.... I'll post them when I find them
