I need some help finding a hole in the fire wall.

I'm trying to add a system to my 97 max and I can't seem to find a hole for my 8 guage power wire for my amp. Can somebody please help me with this? I tried everything except drilling a hole. I really don't want to if I don't have to. Where did you put your power wire thru? Thanx.

There should be an existing "hole" space right above the driver's kick panel. Here, you can drill a hole safely thru the firewall without any problems. Make sure you place a rubber grommet around the hole so that the shaved metal doesn't cut your wiring.

DONT DRILL!!!

The stock harness goes inside the car through the driver wheel well. Run the cable through there, its so easy.

why drill when there's a perfect hole already, and the wire comes in right where you're going to run it under the carpet anyway.

...my way would be to drill a new hole with grommet and call it a day! plus it saves the time of hunting down a factory grommet that will fit the wire you have. I mean when you have 5 other cars waiting for installs its sometimes easier and more efficient to just drill!

Yes that's exactly right. I thought it was too much work at first but it's not as much as you think. Jack up the car, take the rim off, pop off the 4 or 5 screws at the tip of the wheelwell (close to the fender) and you will see the grommet. Then just run the wires inside, run them into the bay and you're done.

Have you even seen the wheel well hole? No drilling can be easier then to use the stock hole. I have 1/0ga wire running to my trunk without any problems.

i fit 1/0AWG through the hole that is already there, right next to the hood release cable. just run a coat hanger through from the inside, tape up whatever you need to bring into the cabin on the hanger and yank from the inside. simple.
