yes, I really dislike the front, the rest is good though. I was checking out the pix on custommaxima.com and they have a white max with the kit on and it looks pretty good, but for some reason it looks like it is closer to the ground on the black car than the others. I don't know, defintly not worth 1,050 imhop

I like this one better...

A photochop, but a good idea. Doesn't have those wild flares like the Type-S and still looks fairly modest.

There's a thread goin on about it, just search for something about body kit styles and ideas and such.

this kit looks hot...reminds me of the sarona in a way, probably why i like it but i love the back and sides and the front is cool, it does have a little more stuff on it than needed but makes the kit look a lot sportier...the day pics are good and i wish i could see more

This kit now looks really good...too bad they didnt have this one in production. as for the tuning type-s kit, it looks as if you cannot lower it much, because the front bumper is so tall.

the main thing is the front has too many holes, just leave the big center rectangle there and thats it, i need it for my future intercooler , but for the reest id use a stillen kit, but if u get rid of all the useless holes u got urself a nice kit.

You can look through that thread and post what you think. They'll eventually try and manufacture it. It's a body kit based on the R33 style, so it's like the Type-S, but it's a lot more subtle. Go to that thread and support it!

And you all wonder why the aftermarket for the Maxima is so small. When people try to help out and get something new it's immediately shot down and called ugly.

If you referring to this pic, that is a Sarona rear...

this is a Type-S rear... these 2 kits look nothing alike.

I was looking at that too. The fins in the back give it distinction. The side skirts seem identical though...

like you said, pls look at the post carefully..
Black one has full Type-S kit (including Type-S skirts).. Type-S skirts have the Z-fender 'slits' along the back of the skirts. Compare it to my sig and you can easily tell the difference.

They said the rear bumper was Sarona, I said that the whole car looks to be Sarona..and so why would they use it to show that they have a Tuning Type S kit in it?

Maybe because the Sarona rear was molded onto the car. Which would make it a PITA to remove.

well those of us who don't like body kits should keep quiet on threads like this, or get the Stillen kit...there will always be people who like them and people who don't like them.

We ALREADY have a hard enough time getting aftermarket products made for us. When we finally get something (ie, type-s kit), people knock it... if it's not pricing, it's the look or it's something else.

Granted, you can't PLEASE everyone BUT you guys aren't exactly making things easier for the aftermarket manufacturers either.

Yeah I agree, the only thing people should be allowed to complain about is the price, it is a bit steep, however everyone has there own opinion on what looks good. So people should stop responding with "its fugly" or "way too ricey". What people should do is purchase this kit, the customize the front as they want. If you don't like all the holes in the front, then put something in there to block it. ie: if you have a black max then get some of that gutter guard from home depot and put it in there to cover the whole. The holes you do want leave, or just put the silver mesh in there. Doing stuff like this is when you are truly customizing your car.

Due to the high costs for making the Type-S kit, the incompetance of the manufacturer chosing the $hittiest shipping company in the world... not to mention their poor way of packaging the kit before they ship it, and finally the sudden drop of interest in the kit has made us at Maxximum Tuning decide not to make anymore new designs for the Maxima. We're going back to making kits for the RSX, Lancer, WRX, 2003 Civic Si, and so on. We will continue to sell the Type-S kit(after all it was my goddam idea) but ship it out ourselves, but we won't make another custom kit for the max again.

The front does look kinda garish from dead centre and low to the ground, mostly because of ALL that open area filled with mesh. However, the standing height shot from an angle looks pretty sweet.

Although I'm not on the market for a body kit anytime soon, I must commend you on all your effort. I know it seems like it was totally not worth all the trouble, and financially it was. Just a suggestion for the future, try to get more info from potential customers on what they like before you actually go out and produce it. I mean, some pics and some good photoshop skills could have provided exactly what you know now. That the rear is VERY liked, the sides are pretty good, and the front is a little too much.

I as well as many org members wish you the best of luck, and hopefully, this sour experience won't permanently prevent you and your company from producing another kit in the future. I understand the wounds are still fresh, but please, reconsider never producing one for us again.
