I dont think you'd want a Greddy, even though you are a 5spd.. Greddy = very very loud, very very drony.. At least on the automatics..

but I dont know how they really are on the 5spds, so, good luck!!

I still don't know what you guys mean by loud..... it's like not even 10% as loud as a straight through muffler... sure it drones some, but its sooooooo deep.

I mean some droning is ok, as long as it doesnt drone on highway cruising speeds..

But i've seen 2 unhappy max owners with greddy catbacks. But they're autos. And I never had greddy myself, so I can't give you anymore feedbacks. And you gotta pay to play, so I guess the only way is to try them for yourself.

questions about this subject

i am also interested in this setup. when u all say drone wht exactly do u mean?? is it good? i guess i should explain abit. i had a firebird with a flowmaster exhaust b4 the maxima and very very much miss that low rumble. i am searching and collecting names of exhausts that could possibly get that same sound from. is this the setup that i should invest in or is there soemthing else out there?

also, to get off topic, i have a cone air filter on my max. it sounds nice when u romp on it, will a frankencar intake make that sound even deeper??

let me know eithere reply or send pm.

thanks

Right now, all I'm running is a GReddy SP Catback. I don't currently have a Y-pipe, however I do plan to add a Warpspeed Y-pipe and a RT Cat.

My exhaust isn't loud at all. When you start the car, it pretty much sounds stock. It's actually not loud at all until you hit about 2500rpms, which is when it becomes louder and it drones a bit if you stay at that RPM for a while.

In can become a bit annoying on the highway. At 70mph, my engine stays at about 2500rpms, so it drones a bit. I just turn the stereo up though, so it doesn't bother me at all.

I love the sound, and I don't regret buying my GReddy at all. I highly reccommend it to anyone. It will probably get a bit louder when I add the Y-pipe though.

Later,
-Nick

I would love to hear and see any modded Maxima's, but as yet I havn't seen any around my area, northern NM.... I heard an MPEG of a SP exhaust not the cat-back but still sounded good to me, my last car was pretty loud, a neon with tons of bolt ons and it droned on the highway so im kinda use to it.

I recently installed a sp and a warpspeed y pipe. Frankly I like how it sounds. It is not loud at all but it does drone alittle bit around 2000 to 2500 rpm but it doesn't bother me a bit. However I do have a 5 speed.
