Alignment

My car is lowered and before I got an alignment the front wore out on the inside and the back wore diagonally, the alignment helped some with the front but the back is still the same. Any ideas? I have have bought new shocks and struts and wondered if I could slot the shocks and struts so that it could be aligned further and possibly back to specs.

You could slot the front struts. However, it would be easier to use adjustable bolts from Eibach or wherever.

The rear alignment does not change when lowered. It is not adjustable is any way. You would need to slot the holes in the rear hub mounts to adjust them. If your rear alignment is way off, you may have a bent rear beam.

Could lowering a car and leaving the factory shocks and struts cause this problem with the wear on the rear tires? This is what the wear look like.

Take a picture of YOUR rear tire and post it.

Also give us more history - Were your tires rotated from time to time? Did you maintain correct tire pressure? Do you have vibrations? Have you had the balancing checked over the life of the tire? How many miles are on your tires? Your cars suspension may be shot as well. How's the ride? Soft, floaty, does the rear end squirm all over the road when you hit bumps?

There are many factors associated with improper tire ware. The Maxima has a solid rear beam setup in the back. Tire wear like your claiming is almost impossible with the setup we have unless you have some serious suspension problems, which by now would be making your car almost impossible to drive.

I would take a picture but I don't have a camera to do so and that is why I posted the link with a picture of the type of wear I am getting. I am working on talking to the person I bought the car from to see if the factory shocks where left on the car which are totally shot now, but I had this problem at 60,000 miles with tires and now I have 145,000 on the Max.
And yes, I do rotate the tires and that is how I found out the back were diagonally worn and the ride on the front with the rear tires sucks.
