couldn't do any better than a damn 16.3 at the track?..

lost to a Ford Focus SVT.. (****ers are fast 170 hp stock i think)
Even though hypothetically I should be averaging an additional 37 HP with the given mods I'd say I should have beat him

Also.. I think my TPS isn't workin right,. (idles strange sometimes but my throttle body is spotless though). anyone got a TPS lyin around they could sell me?..

Any tips from other auto's about how to manage better 1/4 time's?

I think my next mod is gonna be the JWT ecu mod. anyone else runnin a JWT chip?

 

Track? Elevation? That should help clear things up a bit.

 

damm that sucks. You did worst that a stock 97 SE. stock 97-99 is 15.5
You need to get your engine check or something you are loosing. a good amount of power.

 

I have a feeling that my Stillen 2-piece Y-pipe might be messed up. I had my car on a Dynojet and my numbers were lower than I hoped.
I have the following on my 97 with 56K miles on it:
POP intake filter
Stillen Y
Courtesy B
5th gen muffler
UDP
Brembo Gran Turismo brake kit
17X8 SSR Integrals
stock spark plugs
I pulled 168.8 HP as an average of three pulls. I ran my car on a G-tech and did a 1/4 mile in 15.35 @ 96.48 MPH with a passenger in the car. I thought with my mods, I should be pulling close to 180 HP. I have yet to install my RT Cat, so I'll take a look at my Y-pipe when I have the cat off.

 

You may want to have you knock sensor looked at.. My friend was having allot of problems with his and it took a ton of Horse power away.. JUST AN fyi.. Do a search on the ORG for it..

damn I think you might be right, but what if it turns out that my engine is knocking and pinging? and my knock sensor is ok it's just limiting my takeoff, what would I have to do to eliminate knocks and pings?

 

Premium fuel? If you're not using it already, use it!

 

do you got subs in the trunk? spare tire? bunch of weight holding it down will slow it down. that sucks

 

i still had my spare tire, but i took out my sub and amp

 

Does your check engine light come on at all?

 

you might want to get a tune up. Post your timeslip up and maybe we can help you with your drag racing techniques. how do you launch? what was the weather like? do you race with stock rims or larger? tire pressure?
