Got The Biggest Whopping Of My Life
I went paintballing today in pennsylvania and it was 8 of us with two cars. My car (95 GLE 5-speed w/ a few mods) and a 1984 280 hp CHEVY CAMARO. His was 5 speed and looked like a murderer. So we hit 80 and 280 and whenever he felt like it, he would just leave me in the dirt. On the roll, unless he wasn't trying to hard, my y-pipe did good and helped me keep up. Passed him a couple times too. But from the start, when we get into a highway, he bounces on me and SERIOUSLY makes me look like i'm not even moving. All this time i thought my car was descent speed but it is still a 4 door sedan with a little power for its class but by far, initially not meant for racing....
I wonder what they run in the 1/4 miles....this car had to be a V8 atleast....

They're not that fast stock. The IROC Z-28 0-60MpH was around 7 and 1/4mile low 15s. However if you modify them they are easy Supra-killers. They have so much potential you can't even compare.

i dont think there are to many irocs taking out supra's but im sure there are a few. as to the post, those run high 14's stock, but the size of the engine makes it incredibly easy to unleash 60hp with 1k. a friend of mine has an iroc, with intake, ported engine and full exhaust work and he runs a 13.9.

There's no such thing as a 280hp '84 Camaro. The 3rd gen Camaro (82-92) had, at the most, 245hp and that was in the 5.7 TPI L98 during years 91-92. An '84 Camaro "might" have 180-195hp if you're lucky. The older sub-'87 models had TBI (throttle body injection) and were woefully slow (higher 16s). Unless he's done a "crate motor", I wouldn't be worried about any '84 Camaro. Not until 97 did the Camaro come with 280+ hp.

Look at it this way:
he may be faster than you, but your car will last one heck of alot longer.
I had a 92 Camaro before the Max. 4 Engines in 6 years. It had horrible cooling system problems of all kinds, and every time it overheated even just a bit, the engine was toast within a month or two. Thank god I only had to actually pay for 1 engine, and labor on another. Still came out to over $4500. That's a freakin SC and a few other goodies for the Max.
POS.
The REASON I bought a Max (Because I was not into modding at that point) was the VQ Engine. It'll take a lickin' and keep on kickin.
