sorry, don't know how to fix the O2 code or if it is caused by the knock sensor, but
congratulations!!!
welcome to the club!!! it's about time you got an ecu light.
our damn VQ engines are soooo sensitive that every little thing sets off that light. but isn't it nice to know that your ecu works?! actually i was driving with my light on for a few weeks, then one day it went off and I was actually ALARMED! i thought i really broke something now if the light went off.
sorry, don't mean to patronize you. actually though, it's very likely that the 02 sensor caused the knock sensor to trigger. try to change/fix the O2 sensor problem first then reset ecu then see if the knock sensor comes up again.
btw, what year is your maxima? i have access to a 97 and 98 FSM manual.

Replace your o2 sensor first, clear the ECU and see if the KS code comes back. A bad o2 sensor can make the car run rich or lean, creating the ping and setting off the KS code.
