replacing OEM Bose speakers...
Hey guys, got a question that I haven't found an answer to yet...
I have a set of MB Quart 6.5 components (w/crossovers) that I would like to put in my car, but have been waiting on the dough to buy the new deck, amps, etc..
Can I use the factory Bose deck and just replace the door speakers with my Quarts? Do I need to use the crossovers?

the deck does not have a built-in amp...SO, if you install the speakers
there will be almost no sound coming out of them...

there are ways to hook up the bose HU to aftermarket speakers, I know you need a line level converter to start with, and i am pretty sure you still need an aftermarket amp.
i am about 90% sure that the stock amps are designed for 1ohm use and those MBQs are 4ohm which means that this amp will put about 5W max to those which will not even make them move a bit.
so, you will need to rewire the car, remove stock amps and speakers, install amps and i would recommend a decend headunit while you are at it, so... save those pennies...
