Question for those who installed Raybestos QS

Just picked up my Raybestos Quiet Stop brake pads. They come with brake shims that have an adhesive on the side of the shim that goes agaist the back of the pad. When you installed your QS pads did you put an anti squeal compound on the side of the shim that faces the brake piston? Guy at Pep Boys said not to but I don't have any faith in his advice. What did you do? Did you lubricate the brake pad retainers and anti squeal springs? I am using Synthetic High Temperature Brake Grease, what did you use? The lifetime warranty from Raybestos is gone, all they do now is warranty them for life against manufacturing defects. You have to send pads to Raybestos for them to determine if the pad were defective. I ordered my rotors and stainless steel brake lines from Brake Concepts yesterday. I was very impressed with Wood's knowledge and honesty. I'll be doing the brake work sometime next week and I'll post results.

Considering how the shims are, you probably don't have to use it, but I did anyway, and ~ a month later, they're still perfect. One thing I did notice is that they are harder on the rotors, simply because their ceramic i believe. They left grooves across the entire length of the rotor, more like scratches, but nothing that I'm gonna worry about. Overall, they truly are quiet stops
