KYB AGX Settings??

Hey guys, on what settings do you have your KYB AGX Struts and Shcoks set on? Just curious. I have mine on 1 in front and 2 in the back with 18x8 SSR Integrals 235/40 Kuhmo's.

Thanks,

Well if you want bruised kidneys, you can set it to the Max - 4 in front, 8 in back.

For street driving, believe it or not, 1 in front, 2 in rear is pretty good. Smooth ride and very good handling (more than you need for the streets anyways). I recently set mine from 1/2 to 2/3 and the ride got noticeable harsher but the handling is even better now. I would not go beyond these settings, it would make the ride absolutely horrible.

A harsh ride doesn't come 100% from the shocks. The springs you use play a big role in the cars stiffer or softer ride. Bigger rims and lower profile tires play a big role also. I use the stiffest setting on the shocks but I have APEX Suspension springs. With the bodykit on the car now I can't have that much bouce because one wrong bounce and bye bye front bumper. I have stock rims which make it even worse because the kit falls lower with stock rims and the 1.7" drop. If I had my 18"-19" already it would be high as hell. But anyways, if you had Eibach Springs that have a stiffer spring rate you could lower the settings on the shocks because the springs are stiff already. I love the ride I have right now. It's stiff but not harsh and when I take turns I take them hard. When I go back to my 245/35/18ZR tires then I will take those turns at full throttle.

My advice to you is to test all the settings until you find the one that makes you feel comfortable. Everyone has their own preference.

Rims make a big difference in ride. From your sig, i see you have the 16" SE rims, which would be a lot smoother than the 18" rims described at the top of the thread. I imagine that 4/8 on AGX with stock 15" rims would not be too uncomfortable at all. My experiences are based on 17" rims.

Thanks,
I have 2/1 with eibach springs and 2001 Stock SE 17 inch rim (with OEM tires). It is close to stock smoothness , but the handling is much better . I am planning to go 1/1 this comming week . You might wonder why?! Well I am a family man and my passengers must not notice the road conditions , in that way I keep them focused on their destination , rather than bumps depreciations . Oh , my brother has a 2001 SE , settings are 2/3 , but he is single.

hey, i recently switched up to oe 17" wheels, feels the same to me. i would imagine going from 16-18 you would feel a difference. but on 17's the 3/4 is ok for me. but yeah im going to try 2 in front

Thanks,
I have mine set at 2/3 with ground controls, my ride is a lil bumpy but not as bumpy as it was with the stock 1's. And my car is lowered 3" all the way around with the stillen kit so i scrape alot. So i have to be careful everywhere i go but the 2/3 setting is the stiffest i felt so far.

I rode on 2/4 settings on 18x7.5 from when I first installed them. Right now I am at 3/5 cuz I wanted tighter suspension for cornering but the front seem a little bit too stiff for my taste when I have to go over bumps. Otherwise, I like the 3/5 setup.
