Is 2.0 drop too much

I am thinking of buying sprint springs with 18 inch wheels. IYO, is a 2.0 inch drop too much, like does the car scrape on the ground alot. Also, i have no body kit. THanks

I think that's too much, but not because of clearance issues. I think you give up too much wheel travel being that low.

Not more than any other lowered car. I have a 2inch drop all around, but if you don't drive like an idiot, you'll be alright. The only thing that might scrape is your mudflaps(if you have any) on high up curbs and maybe your exhaust (on severly angled slopes). Other than that, you'll never regret doing it.

Maybe I'll just throw my question into this post. I just bought a house on a dirt road (my Max will never be clean again ). Will I have problems with a 1.5" drop? Probably H&R or Maxspeeds. I know I can only crawl down my street, go around all the big holes, and watch for anything sticking up, but I do that now anyway. The road does seem to be in pretty good shape, my biggest concern is with my Warpspeed Bpipe the rear oxogen sensor seems to be the lowest point on the car

IMO a 2.5" drop would be perfect.

You just have to drive like 15mph on the dirt road and you'll be fine.

i've scraped before with my 1.6 inch drop, and i dont have a kit. I think it was my exhaust that touched the ground..

I think that as long as you don't have a bodykit, and drive carefully up inclines, a 2 inch drop is manageable.

If you like to drive fast and make believe you are in an autocross event (hitting every pothole you see), stick with stock. I'm stock and have no problem autocrossing through New York City. Bump, Bump..

You may want to consider your strut warranty before dropping 2".

For example: A 2" drop will void the warranty on KYB AGX struts. 1.5" is the max drop they (KYB) will allow.

Just a thought.

Cyrus,

I really dont think it will be much longer till they come out with a 2 1/2" drop spring...Whatever company comes out with them first, ill be the first to order

Sprints sometime look slammed but other times It doenst...If im driving up to my car in another car it looks soo good but If im standing next to it, stairing at the little wheel gap left after 2.0, I get all bugged out

neh 2.0 inch drop wont be bad at all especially if you dont live in a city...i have a 1.6 drop with B&G and people dont believe that i dropped the car...i sumtimes even want it lower but then i would scrape and have no hope of a future body kit...up until the 2.0 inch drop, everythng below that except perhaps intrax makes the max only finally look normal...the only person with a slammed max ive seen is someone who had intrax with one coil cut and THEN he had a ONE finger gap
