That thing with the screen is that Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Hondas do not use these. It has a tiny wire in it that heats up when voltage is applied. The air flowing by it will cool the wire down. By measuring the cooling effect of the air going over the wire, the computer knows how much air is going into the engine. From this, it can determine how much fuel is needed.

Oh, the screen is there to straighten the air stream so the MAF can get an accurate reading.

really? I guess it's best to put a vortex/tornado after the MAF. I thought it was to protect debris from hitting the sensor. I learn something new all the time!

I ripped my screen badly so I just took it out. Do you think I have anything to worry about? BTW did you get my PM?
Thanks,

Okay thanks. Just remember to mention I (Cyrus Mistry) talked with them previously when ordering. I am switching to black also, ruby is looking too tacky.

are you talking about the vortex/tornado thing that is advertised on t.v. and is suposed to make better performance? the little round silver peice you stick in you intake? if so, don't even waste your time. they are a rip off, and they DO NOT WORK. but if not, then please disregaurd my previous statement.
