knock sensor replacement is as easy as fluff
knock sensor replacement is as easy as fluff
All you need to have:
Tools:
1. A $5 note (might vary from $1 up to $20)
2. A neighbor child, preferably male so there would be no need to explain what is bolt or wrench, up to 12 years old or neighbor child's mom (must be small and pretty). I've used both, though. Either one shouldn't be fat!!! Their hands must be small enough to get trough to sensor compartment.
3. 12 mm wrench from any standard tool set
Components:
1. Just one brand new knock sensor
How to:
1. Before starting the procedure, open the hood and remove that small green connector in front of compartment under lower intake manifold. Put the wrench into some clearly visible and accessble place nearby (top of the manifold, battery, whatever).
2. Show the note to the boy, attract him and move slowly towards your car.
3. When he's close enough, make sure he understands how that bolt under lower intake manifold relates to the note. Use your verbal abilities to do that.
4. Let the process go on, do not interrupt the boy (or the girl if you were able to get her up for that).
5. When finished, verify the results and give the note to the boy if results seem to be positive. Otherwise start again from point 3. ***
*** Note that the girl may want to be awarded in some other mean. The one I've used wanted me to help her load stuff she brought from Costco onto third floor... so get ready

I can just see people holding out money to kids and having someone call the cops on them
Yeah; in this day and age, you just can't flash money to the neighborhood kids to get them to work on your car without neighbors thinking the worst.
I took my car to the dealer today to get the knock sensor replaced. The $5 dollar trick didn't work. But the $150 trick did
But car is running nicer
