How many miles on your stock struts?

Hey everyone, I'm just curious how many miles you got out of your stock struts. I'm at 116.5k right now and wanna get some Maxspeeds w/o replacing my struts.

I got rid of mine at 108k. I would not recommend using any lowering spring on stock struts as old as yours. I know you are itching to get lowered, but just wait until you can afford new struts too.

That is, unless you like spending the time (or money) taking your suspension apart more often that you need to.

You think it rides great, but wait til you ride in a max with new struts, then you'll realize that your shocks are blown. I got 120k miles on my shocks.. need to replace them..

Don't do it. You may not know it, but your struts have served their useful life. Putting new springs on with old struts will only make you do the whole job over again to replace blown struts in the near future.

I have 111k on my car and am putting H&R and KYB AGX on tomorrow. My ride sucks so bad right now on the factory springs/struts. They should've been replaced at about 80k, but I live in MS and the roads are like cross country. I recommend replacing everything at once.

I got 71K and my struts are already shot (those darn crappy roads in Baltimore!!!) But I already have my Maxspeeds and AGX on hand just waiting to be installed. Been sitting in the garage for quite some time now, just couldn't find time to do them.

Could someone tell me if riding on god-forsaken-struts could do more damage to the suspension/car?

No... they are fine.. other members have installed new struts and still like my ride better. If you would like you can have a ride too.

Got 124K, H&R's in the garage, AGX's next week, but the stock struts seem fine.

245,000 miles. 97 SE. Will most likely replace them with factory struts.

struts gone bad....

i have 80,000 miles on my max, my front left strut is leaking after year and a half with eibach springs, have hit a few potholes that i felt to my bones, so dont know if it is that they were too old or too mistreated...

I had 141k miles on mine when they were replaced. They started to get a little soft by then. The new struts are a world better (KYB), you don't realize how bad they get because it happens gradually. What sucked though was the right front new KYB leaked and after 10k miles was worse that the old ones. It was replaced under warranty, she rides fine now!

i have 88k and my rear ones are no good because i hear a big noise anytime i go over a bump with people in the back. one place said my struts were blown but other place said it might just be the bushings or something like that, i don't know anything about them...any advice what to do because i don't want to pay huge money for all new struts. i haven't changed springs or anything in case you're wondering if that could be the reason.

thanks for all the replies guys. I'm still confused though cuz everyone had a different opinion, hehe. I guess I'm just going to hold off for now and keep saving up. But those maxspeeds are awfully cheap right now, and might go up once they become established.
