Eventhough it lost, it is like putting a heavyweight against a cruiser weight. I still think a spec v would get it from a 4th gen max, but hey i might just be bias. But those spec v's are fast as hell, and i would love to see them beat up on some civics, focuses and neons. The spec v is family (NISSAN), and if i wouldn't have bought my max, i definitely had the spec v first on my list when i was car shopping. Nissan engineering!!!

No way, an auto and or base SE-R would not come close to hanging with bags like that. Spec-Vs hit a wall at 125mph, this is coming straight from the owner of a lightly modified one. We had a friendly race a little later in the night and they are pretty weak on the highway. This was long before my MEVI. I kept it in 5th from 70mph or so (I didn't know we were racing yet). He pulled out probably 100 feet on me (remember I was in 5th) but I caught him easily enough and passed him by 130, never having left 5th gear.

Hehe I like em too.

Seems everyone around here has the silver one. 2 coworkers do. One has CF hood on order. Few other cosmetic goodies. Just as expensive as our mods

That sounds like a fair race to me if you ask me!!!leaving it in 5th!!

now as for that spec V racing Baggs!!I got on the highway w/baggs that car gets up in the 100s very very quick and keeps on going!!
I dont forsee any spec V keeping up with him unless hes spraying!

i'd rather keep my max, it's basically the same thing as a max, performance wise, except smaller

A very horrible 15.6 @89 mph was the best I have run to date. But (trying to make excuses) That was with full leather interior, dual power seats, 2' 12's in the trunk, spare tire and jack and a 150 mile one way trip to the track. however I will be running saturday with the VI so we will see.

My car is a highway monster. I have said it before and I will say it again. From a red light..slow city.. above 80 mph look out

I don't know about 15 flat, maybe at 0 degrees farenheit, but otherwise they are around 6.9-7.1 0-60 and mid 15's in the quarter.

I'd say a 6spd Spec V would be almost a dead heat for bag's modded auto.

Bags: My car might be pretty strong on the highway, but I'm usually too scare to take it to the limit. Now with the SC, I'm worry about the EGT going too high if I keep my foot on the gas. With the SC, I have to be very careful about pushing it too far. On the streets, it's ok.

Craig: Yeah, I got another SC...long story. I'll give you the short version: yes I wanted to get the 300ZXTT, I was almost certain I was going to get it too. So instead of making sure that I can get it(like actually buying the car first), I rushed it and sold off a few of my mods(the SC being one of them). Later on when I was about to purchase the 300ZX, I found out I got laid off my job. Doh! The 300ZX was going to be a 5spd too! I knew I have to keep this car for a few more years, so I had to get something to satisfy myself. So there's your answer. Btw, a 5spd swap will still be in the plan for this car.

Papasmurf: What did I say? Nothing negative.

there have been a couple of specs running 15.0-15.3 stock. There are at least a couple of 15.2 stock slips over at b15sentra... It's just very hard to get a good launch so a lot of us end up running mid 15's with 2.4+ 60ft times, even at >90mph. ANYWAY, besides that point, I think the video is pretty accurate becuase the topend is pretty bad. My third gen actually felt better going through the 100's than the spec. The spec can take a lot of maxs on the lowend (excluding 2002s, of course), but on the high end the maxima owns it.

yeah i have seen a few specV in the mid to low 15 range. they are quick cars, i raced one from about 40-90 and had half a car on it, they pull hard and quick. as for your sentra taking a 2k2 max i hope you mean an auto, and i would think even those you would have a tough time with in any aspect and 6speeds would rip you up, off the line and from higher speeds. i considered a specV but i didnt have the cash and i think my 4th gen is quicker anyway, but i was cursed with an auto tranny

I have no reason to dislike you. What he said simply evoked memories of a few threads in which NightRider starred. It reminded me of NightRider immediately, but since you two are part of the same company and all, it reminded me of you as well. I have no problem with you whatsoever. If you have a problem with me that's fine, I can deal with it if that's the case.

no, no, I was saying the spec is NOT faster than the 2002, but I have beaten quite a few 4th gens, modified and unmodified - a few are members here, and I do have timeslips - in the 1/4. Modified specs with only I/H/E are in the mid 14s.

Still talking about the 1/4, the modified 5spds (4th gen) give me trouble (meaning can most likely whooop me, but it depends on the driver and how modified it is), and most maximas (auto or 5spd) will take the spec if you go into the 100s. The max just has a higher topspeed and a stronger high end. So, I think that video was quite believable.
