this is somewhat of a continuation of the thread...

i have a garage door opener that is falling apart so i decided to do some research on getting the homelink visor that was available in 97-99 models and not 95-96's.
i went to my local junk yard and found a 97 GLE with tan interior that was equipped with the homelink visor. the guy at the junk yard was kind enough to just let me take the visor AT NO COST!!
i have lighted vanity mirrors in my 96 so if you have non-lighted vanity mirrors this will not work. if you have lighted mirrors this is 100% plug and play.
i simply unplugged and removed my old visor, plugged in the homelink visor and screwed it in. i found the 1997 owners manual...
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/Guide...san-Maxima.pdf
the section on programming the homelink is on pages 1-24 to 1-26 in chapter 1 of the manual.
after programming it, it works like a champ. no more broken up garage door box and now i have 3 neat buttons on my visor.
