UDP:Worth it or no?

OK heres the deal. My belts are going to need replacement soon. They're very shiny and are squealing. So that's gonna have to be done. Here's my question. I have an auto. Would it be worth it to put a UDP on the car since I'm changing the belts anyway? Anyone besides SprintMax is free to respond Thanks.

well from what ive been told, a system will not effect the motor or alternator if you just have an UnderDrive Pulley. Its when you do the Alternator pulley is where youll have probs(civics, VW's,etc..). And since UR only makes a UPD for us as of now, you should be fine.

Doesnt the UDP take away power from your system, if you have one?

UDP free HP used to turn your pulleys for A/C and other essential features allowing the car to run proper. UDP are usually less weight therefore allowing your car to have more effieciecy. All in all, you most likely will not notice the benefits unless you get a lighter flywheel. That's just what I have noticed. Might be different for others.

not true one bit. i have an udp on my auto and 1500 watt alpine w/2infinity perfects. doesnt affect it. actually if you think about it, it is making your alternator spin faster. more amps maybe if anything....

UDP only helps to quicken throttle response & acceleration by reducing the spun mass of the engine. It is doubtful that it actually save hp by taking it away from the accessories.
When drag racing, you turn off AC and all unnecessary electrical devices anyways and you don't use steering much as to put large load the PS pump.
A light weight pully with no underdriving will be just as effective. Or light weight flywheel as noted earlier.

On the other hand, heavier pulley and flywheel does help smooth out the engine, less vibrations and surges.
