Code scanner for laptop?

A while back i remember there was some talk of a semi-affordable codescanner for the max that hooked in to your laptop. Who makes em? Where can I get em? How much are they?

just for your info, there's one that plugs into a Palm. And Kragen sells a $150 obd2 scanner too.
