I took these last October in/near Death Valley in my non-modded 98 SE 5-speed with Kumho Ecsta tires...

I actually got the speedo to read 143 but getting a pic at that speed was challenging...

Let me just say that going that speed is not very wise and in is quite eerie...

I dont suggest people post pics of their high speeds on the forum. Because I read on one honda forum someone pic something similiar and got his liscence suspended because there was a cop that was also one of the members of that forum. I dont remember how it happened but I just remember that it did.

I'm not worried

First, I don't believe that story. I also don't believe 99% of what we see or hear in/on the news is accurate either.

Second I did that in California so if they want they can have me extradited from Texas...

They cant give him a ticket. they cant PROVE anything!
and how would they find out who it is anyway?? they couldnt! and simply the police wouldnt want to waste their time doing that! they catch people in the act, not on a website with a pic of the speedo....a better reason not to post the top seedo pics would be so that all of us dont start going out and takin pics of our top speeds...it would suck to have one of us get killed trying to take the pic, or getting a ticket..not that its anyones fault but their own......anyways...i was thinking of takin a top speed pic too a while back...just didnt get around to it....its a cool idea....hehe

I was on a trip

Not something I'll do often. Plus it was near Death Valley California USA, an area with a population density of about .01 per square mile(a guess)...

Glad to hear I wasn't the only idiot out in death valley this year... I was out to Vegas on my bachelor party this summer and our party's rental 5th gen maxima's somehow ended up around 130mph out on the desert. I must say I don't make a habit of those high speeds either but I must admit the death valley roads were begging for it

I was pretty impressed with the maxima though - 120 degrees, 4 guys & luggage and A/C full blast and still capable! (and yes, i realize 4 guys in the car at 130 is even dumber, but hey- it was my bachelor party!)

Nice wheels! I am looking to put some on my 97 but havent been able to narrow down the final choices. Wheels always look different when they are on the car. Those are fitti's arent they? Do you have any other pics with a better view?

Thanks

Nate

If you want to get pictures of your speedo at top speeds you could always take pictures while on a dyno. Your car is'nt moving, but you can still prove to the world that you car does 143 :P

That's such BS. The cops can't do ANYTHING unless they see you do it. They don't know who was driving the car.

I have seen a video that a guy made by putting a camcorder in his ferrari f50 and driving over 200 mph in traffic on the interstate. He sold thousands of copies and when the law saw the tape they wrote him a ticket for reckless drving. Posting pics on here is like beavis and butthead, yes the stupid ones might be influenced and go kill themselves or worse still an innocent person. The rest of us would do it if we feel like it anyway but are smart enough to do it when it is safe. I doubt you could get busted. For one, they can't prove who was driving, where the driving was done, and in what vehicle. Heck, those pictures could have been from a parked Maxima and retouched in Adobe....that would be my story officer....yup, I lied to impress a chick and made up the pictures.

Yohann, that video was taken in Germany. Also, the guy was arrested because he personally sold a copy of it to an undercover cop. It's a lot different when you post pics on a forum with the most possible personal info being an email address or "John M".

welp, no pics from me, but a ticket to prove my car can do that hehe

yes, I didnt have a camera to get proof, but would a ticket convince you all? what is the highest you all have gotten tickets for?

oh yah, one other thing, I found it funny that in the first pic, the gas guage is at 3/4, the next one it is at 1/2... must have been driving that fast for a long time...
