It's easy. I removed mine to replace the bushings. Just need a floor jack, some stands and hand tools.

What did you use to separate the balljoint from the hub? I also have to replace my bushings. How much were the bushings and do you have part numbers? Thanks

You can get aftermarket Energy Suspension bushings from Courtesy Nissan. www.courtesynissan.com

Control arm kit is about $30
FSB kit is $13
end link bushings $3 each (4 needed)

I'm about to do the FSB and end links myself this weekend.

Do changing the bushings on the control arms make much of a difference?

I used a tie rod seperator, looks like a massive tuning fork. I think you can rent them at Autozone for free.

Won't this kind rip the boot on the ball joint?

I was careful I guess. You don't have to leverage on the boot, you just have to be careful. I think mine was relatively large, but nothing special.

If I replace the bushings on one control arm with the Energy Suspension one's, do I have to change the other side's bushings as well? (my left side has bad bushings)

I'm not an engineer, but I would suggest replacing both. Worst case just replace one side with stock, but I would just replace both.

Do as you please, but I would do both.

I noticed that my car has been making a squeaking noise for some time now wehn I go over bumps. I already replaced the FSB end linkbushngs when I recently lowered my car about a week ago, but the noise is still there. I haven't replaced the control arm bushngs,so do you think that the control arm bishings are the noisemakers? I have like 110K miles on my max. 97GLE, did you have to use the tie rod separator for the control arm? I want to try and do it by myslef when I gete a chance.

it could be your suspension. My front left strut blew about a week ago and I started hearing a rattling noise. I think you will need something to separate the ball joint stud from the knuckle though. I found out that you can't get stock control arm bushings from Nissan or Infiniti. The Energy Suspension bushings on Courtesy Nissan's page is on backorder and would take like 3 weeks to get them in. I just ordered a new control arm since I'm replacing my suspension soon and can't afford to wait 3 weeks. Hopefully, I'll get it done this weekend.
