What do you think about this installation price for my springs and struts?

I am going to buy my Maxspeed springs and KYB AGX struts probably next week, and I have been looking at installation prices. This is the best I found... what do you think?

Paragon Tuning (a shop here in Colorado) will install the struts and springs for $200. Am I getting ripped off? I'll already be spending $450 for the parts. Oh well... I've got to do it, look at the HUGE gap in my wheel well

It's gonna look so awesome when it's done

$200 is an average price. If they are good, then it's worth it.

it shouldn't take more than 2 hrs. Does this place charge 100/hr labor?

No, because when I asked them about the price for just installing the springs they said $150. (does it seem strange that it's only $50 more for struts AND springs instead of just springs?)

I'm going to get my speed shop guy to do it. He does good work and I trust him. He only charges $125!! I guess that's a great deal.

If anyone lives in NorCal, Turbo95Max and Evil Yak can do your suspension for a really good deal. Not sure how much, but I've heard they can finish suspension is less than 1 hour.

Check out the west coast forum, and look for Colorado posts. I believe there was an install meet 2 weekends ago, where they lowered 2 cars (a 300z and a Maxima). They all seem to be nice guys, so try and get something together. The meets are probably going to be in Denver, but you might be able to find some people up in Ft. Collins, etc.

You ever considered doing them yourself?? There are plenty of guys in CO that will help you out. JDawgX, MadMax95, myself and a couple others have doen theirs, and if you have the time we can help you. If you want to just put up a post in the West Coast forum.

$200 is good price if the guy knows what he's doing. but most people don't (cuz one car is different from another and the fact that many mechanics don't have experience) from what I've read. I'm poor so i did it myself and felt really good. the best deal is to ask other maxima member to help you out (and maybe pay some money) and learn something (unless you don't want to). I know I would pay like $50 for advise for insurance purpose (providing i do all the work). but luckily (with the help from .org) got no problem so far.

i know it doesn't help you much that I'm from Canada, but I paid $180CDN for my install...so with a 1.58 exchange, it comes to 113.92USD

if you didn't buy them from the shop, are they doubling installation costs? a speed shop here in pa(just north of philly) wants to double installation costs on anything not purchased from them. sucks, but whatever

Everything is going to be apart anyway. Ask them why they are charging more for the shocks.

Do it yourself, do it yourself!! I did mine and it was CAKE. More so if you have brand new equipment! It is such a straight forward swap it makes me sick. We're talking five bolts on the fronts to get them on and off, and I think 4 on the rear....then you compress the springs with $30 compressors from autozone, remove to top bolts from the struts, take that top assembly and put it on the new spring strut assembly, and replace....that easy really! Just get a breaker bar and all is well!

Not to mention the spring compressor from autozone is a rental. You use it, return it and get your money back. Its a decent amount of work, nothing too difficult though. I'd do it for a 100 bucks for someone on the org.
