Everyone in here always is complaining how something is wrong or something needs to be fixed on their maximas. You all drive them like race cars when they are built to take the punishment a real race car takes. Nissan says enjoy the ride, not the race. You need to respect the car and mabye you wont have those problems. no hard feelings

You have to understand that we like to drive fast. We like to drive hard. We like to kick the snot out of all manner of cars. We actually like the fact that our 4 doors can romp on many 2-doors. We like the fact that we can carry four people around, listen to a nice Bose stereo, and still have all the creature comforts absent in other cars.
- In short, we like to DRIVE.
- You need to shape up or get out, Newbie. You have just pissed off all the elders.
- Yes, some people do complain. Others ask for advice. Some just patrol to learn. You seem to be the only WHINER! There is nothing wrong with modding a car to make it become a better performing machine. The Maxima has a lovely platform from which to build upon. The engine, for your information, is nearly bulletproof and "sounds like no other engine this side of a Ferrari." The body is aerodynamic and easy on the eyes (less police attention). And the damn sedan design is f-ing PRACTICAL!
-Loosen up, go away, and go do what all people who hate driving do - BUY AN SUV.

They make cars for people who don't enjoy performance driving....and the Maxima ain't one of them. The Maxima sacrifices some ride quality for handling so if you never go over the speed limit and slow to 20 mph for a 40mph curve you bought the wrong car. I think you are looking for the "Yugo with a missing spark plug wire forum". I drive my car hard but I respect it, I don't expect it to last longer than if I didn't. If I didn't drive the car hard I would have bought something with a really soft ride on these crappy streets. I don't redline my engine every day like I did with my Grand Am but I love to feel that midrange thrust and row throught the gears in my Max. Sounds like you thought you wanted to go fast but the first time you hit 3k on the tach you got scared and decided to drive the speep limit from then on. You should sell the Maxima and buy a granny car, then post on the crochet or bingo forum about how long your Buick will last because it has never been over 35 Mph.

after all my car has 102K miles on it so it can't be reliable.. with all those miles it's sure to blow up anytime right ..

You mean to say that a 5.0 litre 2000 Mustang with a 16 year old behind the seat is any better than a Maxima with a 20-40 year old experienced driver behind the wheel. We are not the ones killing innocent people here. Kids that get 275-400 hp cars for their 16 birthday are the real killers buddy. You see more Mustangs, Camaros, etc. killing people every day, yet you say that Maxima owners like us are loosing control of our Maximas because we put FSTBs on, RSTBs, RSBs, wider wheels, better exahust.
