OEM SE Gauge Installation Questions

I ordered an SE gauge cluster on eBay, and according to my UPS tracking number, it should arrive on Monday.

I have some questions about the installation...

Since every car has different options, how hard is this going to be to install? (i.e. my car does not have ABS, but what if the car that the cluster came out of DID have ABS? There should not be extra wires, should there? And then the cluster should still function properly, right? I don't want lights lighting up (or not lighting up) that should be or should not be)

Also, how do I remove the old gauge cluster? I could not find instructions when I searched. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm all over this for you dude. I just did this. Let's see:

1) The guages are REALLY easy to get out, if you take your time. Go to www.maximadriver.com and look under "Indiglo gague installation" for help.
2) Check the actual cluster and compare it to the ones you pull out. Check the LED bulbs (there in a little row at the bottom of the cluster, you can see them from the back) and make sure they all match up. If not, just bring the LEDs over and put them in the empty spots in the new gauge cluster.
3) The information in your guage cluster is stored in your ECU. It's a lot like your computer and monitor. Your ECU tells the light (the montior) to light up. There are 3 plugs in the back that you just swap in. Your ECU takes care of the rest.

If you need more help, email or PM me. My email is paintbl51@aol.com
