Adjusting TPS
Adjusting TPS
Has anyone replaced and/or made adjustments to their TPS? I just replaced my TPS and followed the instructions in the Haynes manual for adjusting the TPS. One part says the resistence should read 500 ohm on closed throttle and 4K ohm on wide open. I could never get mine to read 500-4K ohm. The closest I got was 790-4300 ohm...about 300 ohm off the manual. I was wondering if anyone got the 500-4K ohm reading and what effects will the 300 ohms do?
I forgot to mention, I actually can adjust the sensor to give the 500-4K ohm reading but when I do, the other part of the sensor won't have the correct readings. The other part is have continuity with a 0.012 in gap and no continuity with a 0.016 in gap between the throttle stop screw.
I hope this is not confusing. Thanks in advance.
