It makes the sidemarker light flash along with the turn signal, and the other makes the "cornering" light stay lit all the time.

Why I rewired mine...

I did the deed because you really can't see if I'm signalling from the side of the car. As stock, only the front bumper lense blinks. This way, both the front and the side blink. I figure it's a bit safer for me and others.

If you're going to do it......
Go to Radio Shack first and ask for 22 gauge wire tapper.
It makes splicing much easier and cleaner then soldering and electrical tape.

G'luck.

I did it so that the car would look cleaner. The headlight and corner light have the same "brightness", the sidemarker and the turn signal are both on all the time and have the same brightness, plus the turnsignal still blinks. As far as people next to me, thats why I have sidemarkers in my fenders

The deal is that the side marker is so dim/tacky looking up against the headlights if have some XENON bulbs(hyperwhite,superwhite,etc..)in your headlights so by rewiring them it makes them shine brighter to match the headlights and it looks way better, and if you have clear front bumper lenses get the XENON bulbs. I get mine from here:
http://www.aieonline.com/
Clear Front Bumper Lenses-#194
Side Markers-#1157
Headlights-#9004
Fog Lights-H3

It looks real good with all of your bulbs the same bright white.

I have a 97'and this is what I did!
Take the lens out. Remove the bulb from the socket.Take a small flathead srewdriver and pry up on the little black plastic piece while pushing up on the wire in
the back(black with the red stripe). This wire is the to work with. The other wire(black) is just a ground and there is no need to mess with it. The wire(black
with red stripe)is soldered to the back of the little black plastic piece. Cut this wire off of where it is soldered to,keep up with the spring so you won't forget it. This
wire will be spliced to the other connection. I drilled a hole straight through the other side, through the solder and all and I took apart and old fuse holder, the flat
sides that look like a nail head this is where the contact point of the bulb will be. Drill a hole big enough in the plastic to slide the wire from the fuse holder through
about 18 ga. size. Splice the fuse holder wire with a butt splice to the wire(black with red stripe). Slide everything back into place and you should be set. The bulb
should shine brighter than it did in the beginning. All we are doing is lighting up the high side in this dual filament bulb,by swapping contact points in the socket.

Re: Why I rewired mine...

Kevin,

Do the side markers still stay "lit" with the re-wiring? I like the idea of the re-wire, just don't want to lose the functionality of having the side marker on when the lights are on. I want the side markers to light up as they come from the factory, PLUS work when the blinkers do. Is that the final result with the re-wire? Let me know!

Slickismax: Do you have hyperwhites in your turn signals and sidemarkers? I know you said to me that you have ambers in your Cuzo sidemarkers. The other day I put in ambers in my factory sidemarkers, and it looked funky. So, I took them out and put the hyperwhites back in. However, doing that, I don't think I will rewire my turn signals because it would look stupid having my turn signals amber, and my sidemarkers hyperwhite. I would like to put in hyperwhites for my turn signals as well, but scare I'll get pulled over for it; which I did once already.
