do you guys think it's worth it?

 

I've never used a test pipe, but I know it is not street illegal. If your state requires an emissions test, you will fail. Most states don't use a sniff test, but they usually require a visual inspection of the emissions equipment on the vehicle.

It's generally not a good idea, unless you have a source of inspection tickets, if ya know what I mean

you can have you local exhaust shop do this for probablyb 50 bucks

 

i have one also and could not tell that much of a difference. i sure wouldnt pay 100 bucks for it.

Also i was wondering where it exactly goes, and did you go to your local muffler shop.I couldnt find the straight pipe on custom maxima so i have no idea what everyone is talking about, but if people are saying there getting 11HP from this tell how you got it done!

11 hp gain that not bad? what about emissions?

 

there is no way in h*** it will give 11hp. The only somewhat signifigant gains are for people with SC or turbo, otherwise, waste of money. You will fail emissions. Get a Y pipe instead for a 15-20 hp gain and then get a CAI, do a search.

a test pipe just replaces the cat right? Couldn't you just gut your cat for free and save some money? It's gonna do the same thing, it just might not be as pretty.

 

Anyone else see something fishy here.......they are only selling them for 97+'s but yet they tested it on a 95????

 

yup i was confused last night about that, very fishy

 

that is strange, but there is a difference between 95-96 and 97+. The 95-96 have an O2 sensor in the cat, and the 97+ don't.

 

No offense to Greg or nothing, but that is nuts...11hp, yeah sure. People, the fine for no cat is $$$ in any state, so watch out.
