Ok thats it I'm getting ****ed.

Ok I have a 99 se-l. As stated in some previous posts I have a blinking light that says security on it next to my steering column. I have tried severel method's lock the doors leave the windows down unlock from the inside..but no horn honking or anything. Grrr...Ok so I try the sit inside lock the doors insert key like what 10 times within 6 secs I guess, and no hazard flash. I also had (before the tinr guy took it) a sticker that said anit theft system...or something like that on my driver and passenger side window. Is it possible that I just have stickers and a blinky light but no security system?

so whats the problem? The stock Security isnt that good. If you want to se it off, rool down the windows, lock the door, and then manualy unlock it from the inside and open the door. The alarm or hazards wont go off if you insert the key. Putting the key in turns the alarm off I think. Get a better alarm.

No my problem is establishing whether or not I have a security system at all. Ok I just went out...locked the doors one window was down, security light is blinking...I unlock the door and open it. Nothing nada no horn, no hazards and it starts right up so no starter disable. I'm just trying to figure out if something is wrong in my system, I have a 7,5 anti-theft fuse in the main engine bay fuse box and its good. The reason I'm trying to figure this all out is, the dealer said the previous owner didnt turn any key fobs in and before buying any I want to make sure I have it first...hmmm...tapping head thinking...

You need to wait 30 seconds AFTER the alarm is activated before it is officially armed. Do this:

1) Open a window
2) Close door
3) Arm the alarm
4) Wait 30 seconds, the light is solid first, then blinks
5) Unlock the door by reaching in and unlocking it with the switch near the handle
6) Alarm should go off.

Well I tried that and nada...Oh well apparenlty my car is equiped with a cool blinking light and some stickers..Oh well. Gives me a reason to buy an alarm, even though it would be nice not to have to get one. Anyone got some suggestions on a decent alarm. That I can also use for keyless entry.

Nissan installed $25 alarm system... go figure. The fact that we have the abilty for the panic alarm and keyless entry was big enough. the LED and sticker is about as good as it gets. Plus, the maxima horn is a joke, i coudlnt' hear it from inside my house (parked in garage).
